Phones

iPhone, iPad and others

We can recover data even from non-functional iPhones and iPads. Data on these devices is always hardware-encrypted - encryption keys are in the processor and data cannot be accessed without it. Sometimes a temporary component swap (e.g. a broken display) is enough to back up the data. Other times, board-level repair is needed. If board repair is not possible, as a last resort we transfer the chips to another functional board.

Phone data recovery is demanding - it always requires hands-on work with the device. We will need the device passcode at drop-off.

Phone data recovery is closely related to board-level repairs - it involves the same type of component-level work.

Computers and laptops

MacBook, iMac, laptop, PC

The approach depends on the age and type of device. We recover the home folder - documents, photos, desktop and everything from your user profile. Applications are not included unless specifically requested.

Older models (pre ~2017)

The drive can be removed and read directly. If FileVault (encryption) was enabled, we need the password or recovery key.

Newer models (T2, Apple Silicon)

Storage is soldered to the board and always encrypted. The drive cannot be removed - recovery requires board repair so the Mac boots. After booting, we need your account password to access the data and perform the backup.

External drives

HDD, SSD, flash drives

For external drives, it depends on whether it's a software failure (corrupted file system, deleted data) or hardware failure (head crash, wear, mechanical damage). Software failures are handled directly by us, hardware repairs are handled through a specialized partner company.

When recovery is not possible

In some cases, data simply cannot be accessed. Here are situations where recovery is unfortunately not possible:

Damaged processor in a phone - encryption keys cannot be extracted or duplicated
You don't know the device passcode - encrypted data cannot be accessed without it
Physically destroyed storage - damaged memory chips or disk platters

Diagnostics is a paid service - we tell you its cost upfront. After diagnostics, we let you know if recovery is possible and how much it will cost. We proceed only after your approval.

We treat your data confidentially. All copies are deleted after handover.

Data recovery FAQ

Do you need the device passcode?

For iPhones, iPads and newer Macs, yes. The data is encrypted, and without the passcode or account access it cannot be safely accessed.

Do I pay if the data cannot be recovered?

Diagnostics is paid because we assess the device and recovery options. The actual recovery is charged only after you approve the next step.

Can you recover data after liquid damage?

Yes, the goal is often to repair the device just enough to boot and create a backup. Success depends on the specific damage.

What medium do you return recovered data on?

Depending on the data volume, we hand it over on an external drive, flash drive or as a backup for restoration. If you do not have a medium, we agree on a suitable option upfront.
