What the repair includes
We erase the disk and install a clean copy of the latest macOS your Mac supports. Data is not transferred, so back it up before the repair.
Apple has listed the 12-inch MacBook (2015–2017) as an obsolete model since October 2026. Genuine parts and Apple service are no longer available. These MacBooks have no fan and the storage is soldered to the logic board, so after years of use the board or the storage may stop working unexpectedly, unrelated to the repair.
